ShareInvestor provides market data tools and financial applications to institutional and retail investors. The company also manages one of the largest independent financial portals in Singapore. As a technology company, ShareInvestor assists public listed companies and financial institutions with their corporate website designs and technology services.
ShareInvestor clients include more than 450 public listed companies in the region and its corporate clients include many blue chip companies. ShareInvestor has thousands of paying subscribers for its financial products and services, and an average of 400,000 unique visitors monthly across its online properties. The company organizes regular financial investment seminars and conferences for investors. Our annual large scale conferences, INVEST Fair in Singapore and Malaysia draw thousands of participants from Asia to the shows.
The Challenge
Share Investor is looking to modernize their application by adopting AWS Technology. As the top cloud provider, AWS offered Share Investor a platform that suits their requirements and can scale to serve Share Investor’s growth in the future.
On top of modernizing Share Investor’s Application, Share Investor was also looking to work hand in hand with Cloud Comrade to achieve a transformation of a small subset of customers from legacy to modernized architecture, better understand the application migration requirements and assist in developing a cutover approach and migration playbooks as well as understand networking requirements for establishing Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (Amazon VPCs) for hosting the migrated workloads on AWS Services.
They would also like Cloud Comrade to provide recommendations based on AWS general best practices for logging using AWS services, including centralized log aggregation, and assist with the implementation of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) templates based on AWS general
best practices.
Why Amazon Web Services
ShareInvestor knew that cloud technologies was the way forward for their business but they needed the assistance to select the right provider. The business decided to engage Amazon Partner Network (APN) consulting partner Cloud Comrade.
Cloud Comrade advised that Amazon Web Services was the way forward for ShareInvestor’s business needs. Working closely with our team of AWS certified solution architects, we designed target architecture for each modernize application using a combination of the following services:
AWS Global Accelerator, AWS Application Load Balancer, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), AWS WAF, Amazon Route 53, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), AWS Fargate, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), AWS
Application Auto Scaling, Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS).
The solution also included AWS Landing Zone and architecture modernization requirements and assist in developing new architecture designs for ShareInvestor’s applications such as the Corporate Web-Sites (non-content management system (CMS)), Webcast Portal, Easy Chart and Investor Relations.
