They believe in digital transformation strategy, as it aims to create the capabilities of fully leveraging the possibilities and opportunities of new technologies and their impact faster, better and in a more innovative way in the future. AISA is looking not only for fault tolerance but also high availability in its design, incorporating the Blue/Green deployment method to achieve the desired result.

The organization wanted to reduce downtime and risk using Blue/Green Deployment method by running two identical production environments called Blue and Green.

Why Amazon Web Services?

AISA Digital approached Cloud Comrade to accommodate its managed services to cater for Elastic Container Services Pipeline in AWS. They are aware of the fact, With AWS, companies pay for what they use and it is made up of so many cloud computing products and services. There’s no upfront cost to build a storage system and no need to estimate usage. It is much more secure than a company hosting its own website or storage. AWS currently has dozens of data centers across the globe which are continuously monitored and strictly maintained.

As a company grows, AWS provides resources to aid in expansion and as the business model allows for flexible usage, customers will never need to spend time thinking about whether or not they need to reexamine their computing usage. In fact, aside from budgetary reasons, companies could realistically “set and forget” all their computing needs. As ASIA’s development is towards digital transformation, Cloud Comrade explained all the benefits of migration and about the storage capacity.

To reduce the downtime and risk, AWS used some of the technologies to carry out the process. AISA uses P-Class EC2s as they are powerful and scalable instances to deliver high performance compute in the cloud. Route 53 to give developers and businesses an extremely reliable and it is combined with Domain Name System( DNS) Failover in order to enable a variety of low-latency, fault-tolerant architectures. Application Load Balancer is a 7 layer load balancer that routes connections based on the content of the request. CodeCommit was designed to help IT teams collaborate on software development, including continuous integration and application delivery and stores the data in Simple Storage Service(S3). For the performance monitoring and tracking of CPU usage of an EC2 instance, Cloud Watch is used. To enable control access, permissions and to enhance security to AWS services and resources, Identity and Access Management(IAM) is used.

Benefits

By incorporating the  Blue/Green Development, there was no downtime when switching to a new version. AISA is now able to achieve high availability in its design, fault tolerance and leverages cloud-based services to scale up or scale down the operational and storage needs of IT infrastructure. It shrinks IT costs by paying only for what you use.

AISA feels content in migrating to cloud as businesses can easily access their data from the cloud without losing business continuity and productivity. With a multi-layered security approach, the organisation is able to meet the stringent security and compliance requirements.
